1.The prefix ‘cyclo’ is added to the name of the corresponding alkane, alkene and alkyne.
2.If alkyl substitution is present, irresepective of the number of carbon in the chain, the alkyl group is taken as the substitution.
3.If two or more alkyl groups are present, locants are allocated based on the alphabetic rule.
4. If -COOH group is present, it is named as cycloalkanecarboxylic acid.
-CHO group, cycloalkanecarbaldehyde.
-COCl group, cycloalkane carbonyl chloride.
-CONH2 group, cycloalkanecarboxamide.
-COOR group , alkyl cycloalkanecarboxylate.
If a functional group is present in an aliphatic chain or cyclic ring, that part is written at last and the portion without functional group is taken as substitutions.
